Identity (Re)Construction of Turkish Pre-service Language Teachers during the Practicum

Teacher identity has been prioritized in current research related to teacher education order understand teaching and learning context. This case study investigates (re)construction of three pre-service English teachers during the practicum. Drawing on sociocultural theory, how constructed their identities enacted agencies field school was examined based narratives participants. Data collection tools included reflective papers semi-structured interviews with Analysis qualitative data revealed following themes formation practicum: imagined selves (Wenger, 1998), practicum as shaping identity, directions for future a result experience. It found that previous experiences participants language learners interaction parties including mentor students had both positive negative impacts teachers. Findings is expected contribute relevant literature, suggestions are presented further studies.
